He’s the bad boy she’s always wanted...
Nate “Ghost” Weller has loved Ali Morgan nearly half his life. But he’s done something so heinous he’s convinced she’ll never forgive him if she discovers the truth, so he keeps his feelings and his secrets to himself. Then she blows into town with a mother lode of bad guys on her tail and Nate can’t deny she’s in serious trouble. Unfortunately, he’s the only one who can help her.
She’s the good girl he’s kept at arm’s length...
Ali knows Nate as the most solemn, aloof man on the planet. Sadly, he’s also the sexiest. For years she’s avoided him, unable to stomach his dark scowls and brooding silences… especially when she secretly yearns for his touch. Now she must rely on him to save her from the malevolent shadows ghosting her every move. When the bullets explode, so does their passion. But can love really conquer all? Or are some things just too terrible to forgive?
My Review:
Nate "Ghost" Weller thought there was nothing worse than losing his best friend and fellow former Marine Corp partner, Grigg Morgan, on assignment of a Black OPS nature. He personally told the family about Grigg's death, but it's done nothing to relieve his guilt and pain.
Nate has had to fight his feelings and attraction to Grigg's little sister, Alisa (Ali) since meeting her at age 17. And nothing could prepare him for Ali's sudden appearance at Black Knights, INC with the tale that someone is following her and almost mugged her. Plus, her work and her home were searched for some unexplained reason.
None of the crew at Black Knights, INC feel that Ali is making this up, yet they wonder what is really going on. Nate can't seem to think straight whenever Ali is near him. Ali unconsciously draws nearer to him when they are in the same room together.
Senator Alan Aldus is a very desperate man, he wants the files that Grigg Morgan took at no matter the cost or who gets hurt in the process. He's hired Dagan Zoelner, an ex-CIA agent, to retrieve the files from Ali Morgan.
Dagan is beginning to not trust anything the good Senator Aldus has to say, which begs the question~what is really going on?
Ali remembers that Grigg sent her a zip drive about a week after his death but she doesn't know if this will help the Black Knights. Yet she insists that she go along with Nate to retrieve it, much to his dismay.
What is on the files? Will either Nate or Ali admit their feelings? What will Dagan do? What is Senator Aldus really hiding? Can Nate admit to what happened to Grigg? Your answers await you in Hell on Wheels.
