My Review:
Shifting Shadows brings home how much I love the world of Mercy Thompson. All of my favorite characters made an appearance throughout the whole book.
Fan favorites like Bran Cornick, Samuel Cornick, Warren Smith, and Kyle Brooks, plus mystery man Ben Shaw (my new personal favorite), and of course Mercy and Adam.
No story is complete without those two. I gotta admit that I liked the story of Moira and Tom's first meeting quite a bit. Learning about Bran, Samuel, and Ariana's much hinted at story was like eating my favorite dark chocolate bar and diving in for more.
I think for me Ben's story hit home even more than I expected it to. Ben's history of abuse and understanding and why he dislikes women as he does was completely a new insight for me.
But the story that tipped the iceberg for me was Kara's. Kara and Asil are two very misunderstood characters who need all the TLC they can get and then some. Kara's story nearly ripped my heart out. Being the youngest werewolf and female can't be an easy thing for a teenage girl in a world of monsters.
I truly believe that Asil gave Kara a gift that will have lasting effects to come. I can’t say enough good things about this book. Shifting Shadows is a must read for fans of Mercy Thompson.
Shifting Shadows features:
- paranormal romance
- sexual content
- werewolf
- fairy
- shifter
- mystery
- alpha male
