My Review:
Mechanic Mercy Thompson is walker (shifter) who takes the form of a coyote. It’s been such a harrowing journey since the beginning of the series, and Mercy’s still recovering from the effects of being raped in the last book, Iron Kissed. But despite all that happened, she finally decided that Adam will be her mate.
Neither of them expected Stefan to land in Mercy's living room, almost starved to death, bearing a warning that the Mistress knows about Mercy killing Andre.
When Mercy's college friend, Amber, shows up, she asks Mercy for some out of town help. Amber believes she has a haunted house, though her husband doesn't believe it is. Mercy takes Amber up on her offer to get out of town until things between The Pack and The Seethe calm down a little bit.
Mercy is surprised to meet The Monster, James Blackwood, at dinner with Amber's family.
Amber's son, Chad is deaf and frightened by the ghost haunting his room. He just wants to be believed and thankfully, Mercy gives him that piece of mind. But Mercy is unsure of how to get the ghost to stop bothering Chad.
Stefan gives Mercy added support in regards to Blackwood's marks. Mercy opens herself up reluctantly to the Mating bond along with the Pack bond.

Mercy is struggling to accept her relationship with Adam because of The Pack. Stefan's trying to keep Mercy out of The Seethe and the Mistress's hands. I like the direction of this book for carrying over the events in Iron Kissed. Can’t wait to read the next book! On to the next adventure.
