In the sharp bright Spring of 1981 a young girl with flaxen hair and an open heart arrives at Malpensa, a shabby airport on the industrial outskirts of Milan. Brimful of excitement and trepidation and wholly unprepared, she has come to teach English to the sophisticates of this Northern Italian city, and of course receives a sentimental and sexual education of her own ...This elegant erotica is Julia's homage to the genre and a love letter to Italy.
My Review:
Julia Chambers, an English language teacher from The States, is now living in Milan, Italy. Julia deems that she's on her sexual awakening and has many sexual escapades. Julia values her students and what they teach her about Italian culture, cuisine, and fashion.
Julia isn't shy about her experiences and how they changed her life then and now. Julia doesn't see herself as beautiful despite of being told so. How will Julia's experience affect you? Your answers await you in My Renaissance.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect from this book other than the sexual awakening aspect. I can clearly see how the author changed her views of sexuality from being naive to that of experienced. The male perspective and female perspective of sex in the book is vast and varied from person to person. Sexual exploration in general differs from person to person as well as well as what's acceptable, too.
My Renaissance is fascinating and intriguing which appeals to my many vast interests. I thought the author did a good job of presenting the story in a unique manner.
My Renaissance features:
- erotic themes
