Meet the Assassin: beautiful, defiant, destined for greatness. Celaena Sardothien has challenged her master. Now she must pay the price. Her journey to the Red Desert will be an arduous one, but it may change the fate of her cursed world forever...
My Review:
The second novella of the Throne of Glass Series finds Cel on the road in route to the desert as punishment for messing up her master's slave trade deal in the previous installment. Apparently, someone put two and two together and figured out Cel and Sam’s involvement, despite their best attempts to lay the blame on the pirate Lord.
Cel stops at an inn and does what she can to hide her bruises from the beating she got from her master. There's no word on what's become of Sam, but Cel knows things can't be good.
While at the inn, she itches for a fight and meets a healer who's working at the inn. They quickly become friends and Cel teaches her how to defend herself since she sees potential in her.
The Assassin and the Healer isn’t much of a story, but it was good to get a little update on Cel and Sam after the last book’s fiasco.
The Assassin and the Healer features:
- Young Adult
- No sexual content
- Suspense
- quick read
Rating: 3 out of 5 Kisses
