4 Kiss Review: Vincent (Vampires in America #8) by D.B. Reynolds

23471496

Sinaloa, Mexico . . . haunting deserts, hot nights, and vampires, who’ve been there for hundreds of years, watching from the shadows, playing their games, manipulating humans, and surviving at any cost.
Vincent Kuxim, powerful and charismatic, was made vampire by an ambitious leader looking for soldiers to pave his way to the rule of all Mexico. But more than a century later, Vincent’s Sire is looking over his shoulder as Vincent closes in for the kill, ready to claim the title Lord of Mexico for himself.

Lana Arnold is a bounty hunter, smart, beautiful, and determined to chart her own future. So when the most powerful vampire lord in all of North America enlists her help in tracking down a very old and elusive bloodsucker, Lana sees nothing but opportunity. There’s only one catch. The client wants her to take Vincent—a vampire she neither knows nor trusts—along on her hunt. Then again, maybe it’s herself she doesn’t trust, because Vincent Kuxim is sex walking in a pair of tight black jeans.
Thrown together by circumstance, Vincent and Lana soon find themselves battling an evil they didn’t know existed in a fight that makes Vincent all the more determined to destroy his Sire, seize Mexico for himself . . . and keep Lana by his side forever.

My Review:

Vincent is the eighth installment of D.B. Reynold’s (DBR) Vampires in America Series.

Lana Arnold is a bounty hunter delivering personal messages to Vincent Kuxim and Xuan from Lord Raphael. Lana received advice about vampires from Cynthia "Cyn" Leighton, but she dismissed the information as fairy tales. Now Lana is wishing she paid better attention to what Cyn said.

Vincent is stunned that Lana noticed his use of mind control on her.

The current Lord of Mexico, Enrique, is doing things that are against vampire code. He’s handing vampires over to humans. Vincent can’t believe it; as if he needed more reasons to hate Enrique more.

But Enrique isn’t Vincent’s only problem. Vincent’s also troubled  by his attraction to Lana.

To Lana, Vincent is sex on legs and she tries to avoid him at all costs. Will she succeed? And what truths will Vincent learn from Xuan? What will Enrique do to Vincent? Will Lana admit her feelings? Your answers await you in Vincent.

DBR certainly knows how to weave a tale that is complex and intriguing at the same time. Lana is a kickass character who doesn't let anything stop her, including surly vampires.

Vincent has women dropping at his feet all the time, but I love his confusion when Lana doesn't. Together they are a powerhouse team who understand each of their needs and desires completely. I’m definitely looking forward to next book in this series.

Vincent features:

  • erotica
  • backdoor play
  • oral sex
  • paranormal romance
  • vampires
  • alpha male
  • suspense

Rating: 4 Kisses
