My Review:
Devil’s Game, the third installment of Joanna Wylde’s Reaper’s MC series actually begins at 40% of the book. The beginning of the book is a recap of the last book, Reaper’s Legacy, and is told is various POVs, highlighting how Em and Sophie escaped from being imprisoned by the Devil’s Jacks and what really went down with Em and Liam.
Once freed, Em knows she has to do something drastic to save Liam’s life as her father, Picnic, won’t let anyone mess with his little girl. But Em’s torn.
On one hand, everything she knows about Liam is a lie. Their whole existence from day one has all been a set up craftily devised by the Devil’s Jacks to infiltrate the Reaper’s MC. But somewhere along the way, Liam developed feelings for Em and he just can’t seem to shut her out of his thoughts. The lines get blurred and Em can’t decide if she wants to let her father handle things with Liam or beg for his life.
Liam is as complicated as they get. He’s got a tortured past and the Devil’s Jacks rescued him and his sister from a near tragedy. He’s indebted to them and until he meets Em, he’s the most loyal Devil’s Jack there is.
But the strong spirited Em has him rethinking his life. Liam’s tired of the constant wars against the Reaper’s MC. He envisions a future fighting alongside the Reaper’s MC, not against them – something not every Devil’s Jacks agrees with. That’s when things get dangerous and the bullets start flying.
Liam is up for a higher position with the Devil’s Jacks, but when the situation with Em gets more complicated, everything he ever fought for might be coming undone. But if Em’s by his side, would that be a bad thing after all? And what of Em’s dad, Picnic? Will he and the Reaper’s MC ever forgive and trust him enough or will they just kill him on the spot?
