My father was most certainly NOT an innocent man. As the leader of the Gypsy Brothers MC, he was guilty of many things. But he died for a crime that he didn’t commit, framed by an enemy within who then stole his club and everything he had ever worked to protect.
Including my innocence.
When Dornan Ross framed my father, he set into motion a series of events that could never be undone. My father was murdered by Dornan Ross and his sons when I was fifteen years old.
Before my father died, Dornan Ross and his seven sons stole my innocence, branded my skin and in doing so, ensured that their lives would be prematurely cut short. That they would suffer.
I’ve just turned twenty-one, and I’m out for blood. I'm out for revenge.
But I didn't expect to fall for Jase, the youngest brother in the club.
I didn't expect that he would turn my world upside down, yank my heart out of my chest and ride away into the sunset with it.
Now, I'm faced with an impossible choice - Jase, or avenging my fathers death?

 My Review:

Seven Sons is the first installment in Lili St. Germain’s (LSG) Gypsy Brothers series.

When she was fifteen, Juliette lost it all at the hands of Dornan Ross and his sons. Her father, the leader of a motorcycle club was killed, her mother – a junkie – sold her out to Dornan, and she was brutally gang raped by Dornan and his six sons.

Left for dead, Juliette survives the brutal attack and for six years, all she does is plot her revenge. Dornan’s seventh son and one who’s not immediately on her kill list is Jace, her first love and victim of his father’s crazed, brutal ways as well. After her supposed death, Jace, who was unable to help Juliette and saw how she was beaten and raped, is left a broken shell of himself.

Juliette knows Jace will immediately recognize her, so she undergoes a shocking transformation. She gets hold of a plastic surgeon who will erase every last semblance to her former self. The only thing she keeps is the scar on her hip where each of Dornan’s sons carved a line with a knife after they were done taking their turn with her.

In order to exact her revenge and infiltrate Dornan’s organization, Juliette is now Samantha, a young girl searching for a job at Dornan’s club as a stripper. But though Dornan is still a sadistic, crazed bastard, six years later he’s also a heavy user to the product he sells.

Samantha reminds Dornan of a former lover, and before he can offer her a job, he asks to test her goods. Samantha plays along – a little bit too good and Dornan is instantly hooked on her fresh, young body. Instead of giving Samantha a job, though, he installs her in his club house as his main lady – aside from his wife that is.

Samantha’s feelings are in turmoil. Feeling sickened by what she has to do with Dornan to keep close to him (when all along she hates every fiber of his being), and her overwhelming feelings of uncertainty whenever she’s around Jace have got her on the borderline of insanity. Jace calls out to everything good in her and though he seems lost, Samantha knows that deep down, she can’t trust him.

To further sell her new identity, Samantha picks a random name from social media, and tells Dornan she’s running from an ex-boyfriend and seeks protection from Dornan’s motorcycle club. Imagine her surprise when Dornan actually finds her imaginary boyfriend and executes him in front of her.

Samantha knows she’s trapped and there’s no turning back now. The bodies are piling up and she’s got to fight or flee. She sees an opening and decides to start her revenge and take one of Dornan’s sons down. Will she be able to kill her enemies or will Dornan find out who she truly is?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Seven Sons’ synopsis immediately caught me and I couldn’t wait to dig into this book. I quickly cleared my TBR list and got on it. Imagine my shock and surprise when I realized this book was written in present verb tense. *dies*
Though I make it a standard rule in life to stay away from books written in this verb tense because they give me a nasty headache as my brain automatically tries to change the tense to past, I somehow made it through Seven Sons.
LSG has several scenes set in the past, so the past tense frequently makes it in the story. Seven Sons is also a short read, making it the ideal length my brain can handle present verb tense. By the second book, I was so into the story that it was easy to process this and I’m so glad I stuck to the end. I’m loving this series and I can’t wait to find out how everything turns out!
Seven Sons features:
  • erotic themes
  • oral sex
  • backdoor play
  • non-consensual sex themes
  • motorcycle club
  • drug distribution/use
  • angst
  • suspense
  • alpha male
  • revenge
  • abuse
  • adultery
  • cliffhanger ending
  • kidnapping
  • quick read
