"Incredibly erotic, unconventional, romantic love story"

My Review:

The third installment in the Forgotten Goddesses series by Stephanie Julian, Goddess in the Middle, features the goddess, Amity. As you recall from the past books in the series, Charun, the god of the Underworld, has been trying to escape his underground prison by siphoning off powers from forgotten goddesses.

Amity is his latest victim in this book, and he sets his army of demons to capture her. But his endeavor will be met with several challenges, two in fact: Romulas, and Remus.

These two hot Weres will stop at nothing to defeat the demon they know is responsible for the deaths of their families, though it’s a great mystery why their families were targeted in the first place. When they both meet Amity, deep feelings of love, lust, and a sense of loyalty to protect the goddess overwhelm them both.

Can they defeat the demons after Amity, and avenge their family? Or will the truth of who they really are be too much for them? And what of Amity? Who will she choose to warm her bed at night?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
By all accounts, Goddess in the Middle has everything I love in a book: ménage, action, demons, werewolves, and did I mention ménage? LOL And yet, something was definitely off for me in this book. There were just too many contradictions.
First, Amity’s a goddess with some powers, but yet can’t even defeat a single demon. Then she’s had more lovers than anyone, but yet is so shy and has to be prompted to go after Romulas and Remus, always afraid to voice what she wants. And I could go on….
It was just too much of a tennis match for me to keep up with and I couldn’t get into the story. Still, I’ll never get tired of saying how much I loved the first book of this series, What a Goddess Wants. I’ll definitely keep reading more books of this series just to see if there is ever a repeat of the perfect magic in book one!
Goddess in the Middle features:
  • erotic themes
  • oral sex
  • backdoor play
  • ménage
  • demons
  • immortals
  • mystery
  • magic
  • werewolves
  • mythology
