It's hard to trust the future when you've been branded by the past.
As a walking advertisement for the tattoo shop she's set up in a small Wyoming town, India Ellison is well acquainted with preconceived notions. Despite the odd looks and off-color comments about her off-color hair, life is good. She's clean and sober, dotes on her sister's kids and, best of all, spends most of her free time with her best buddy, cowboy Colt McKay.
Reformed bad boy Colt never expected three years of sobriety to lead to three years of abstinence. Curbing his craving for booze and random sexual encounters is nothing compared to the ever-increasing craving for his hot-tempered, hot-bodied best friend, India. Too bad she's his A.A. sponsor. Too bad she hasn't a clue that Colt's been head-over-bootheels in love with her from day one.
After an unexpected, steamy interlude, all India can think about is riding the sexy cowboy instead of her motorcycle, even when Colt is determined to show her a slower ride is worth the wait.
Or are they risking their friendship for a fling that could burn them both?
My Review:
Colton(Colt) West McKay didn't think three years of sobriety would lead to three years of celibacy, too. But Colt knows he wouldn't have made it this far without his best friend and A.A. sponsor India (Indy) Blue Ellison.
Indy is most unique and different person in the Sundance area because of her piercings and tattoos. Indy is also a tattoo artist and a recovering addict, much like Colt.
Lately, Colt's feelings towards Indy have changed because he wants to make Indy all his. Indy doesn't understand the changes Colt is going through right now, which leaves her confused and a little hurt. too.
Colt would love nothing more than getting Indy into his bed, but he really wants to take things slow. After all, he doesn't want to risk their friendship while moving to the next phase in their relationship as lovers. Neither of them have been in a real relationship, but both want to make things work.
Cam McKay is the only family member supporting Colt besides Edgard, Chassie, and Trevor. The McKay's are a tough crowd to figure out. Yet, they're in a completely different place than Colt. Will The McKay's accept Indy? Can Colt and Indy make this next step work? Will Cam find himself again? Your answers await you in Branded as Trouble.

Wow! Branded as Trouble is another great installment in The Rough Riders Series. I have to admit this is another one of my favorite couples in the series so far.
India is a no nonsense type of person who likes everything in a neat, orderly space. I also love how she's not afraid to show her true self to everyone.
Colt is wounded, broken, a wild child, and the known black sheep of the family. Colt has done a lot of growing up and is taking charge of his life since his sobriety. Lorelei James did a fine job of looking into the world of addiction which includes alcohol and drugs. This story was beautifully written and at times hits you so deep in your heart that you feel their pain as if it's your own.
Branded as Trouble features:
- erotic themes
- oral sex
- bdsm
- alpha male
- cowboy
- spanking
