Decades after being banished from Heaven for saving a life he shouldn’t have, Lash is given a chance to redeem himself. His mission: protect Naomi Duran, a young woman who has lost her faith. The assignment proves to be anything but simple when his superiors, the Archangels, withhold key information about Naomi and refuse to restore Lash’s powers. When an unexpected source reveals centuries-old secrets, his trust is shaken to the core, and he begins to doubt those whom he had once considered to be his greatest allies.
Determined to avoid anything that would risk his chances of returning to Heaven, Lash struggles with the greatest obstacle of all—his growing feelings for Naomi. But when her life is threatened by an unknown source, Lash questions the wisdom of the Archangels and his ability to keep her safe.
Soon, Lash will have to choose where to place his faith—in the home he has fought so hard to regain or in the forbidden love he can’t bear to lose.
My Review:
Lahash(Lash) is a Guardian Angel who can't seem to follow the rules or assignments as ordered by his handler, Gabrielle. Lash's current assignment is to protect a little boy named Javier Duran.
When Lash spies fellow angels in the midst of his assignment, he knows something is going on just not what. Instead of just saving his assignment, Lash saves two children: Javier Duran and Jane Sutherland.
Lash sets off a chain of events that he neither expects or understands completely. Lash not only loses his heavenly gifts, but is sent to earth to contemplate his actions.
For the next thirty-four years, Lash becomes bitter and resentful of his fellow angels and all they represent. Then Lash is given an opportunity to regain his statue in Heaven. All he has to do is protect a young woman from harm. Her name is Naomi Duran. Will Lash take the assignment? Can he protect Naomi? Where does Jane Sutherland fit into all of this? Your answers await you in Lash.

I've read a lot of books about a variety of angels: Fallen, Guardian, and Seraph, but this book by far exceeds my expectations from beginning to end. I could not stop reading this book because I had to know what happened next. Lash is an alpha male with broken and rough edges that doesn't follow the rules: heavenly or earthly.
Watching Lash go thru a gambit of emotions throughout the book had me in tears. I applaud the author for their creativity and craftsmanship of the angel lore. I look forward to the next installment in this series. It's definite must buy for me.
Lash features:
- angels
- paranormal romance
