Kit Colbana—half breed, assassin, thief, jack of all trades—has a new job: track down the missing ward of one of the local alpha shapeshifters. It should be a piece of cake.
So why is she so nervous? It probably has something to do with the insanity that happens when you deal with shifters—especially sexy ones who come bearing promises of easy jobs and easier money.
Or maybe it’s all the other missing kids that Kit discovers while working the case, or the way her gut keeps screaming she’s gotten in over her head. Or maybe it’s because if she fails—she’s dead.
If she can stay just one step ahead, she should be okay. Maybe she’ll even live long to collect her fee…
My Quickie Review:
In Blade Song, J.C. Daniel’s (JCD) first book in the Colbana Files Series, Kit is Aneira, a warrior/assassin, but with a human dad, as a "half breed" - that makes her unwanted for her relatives and her grandmother isn´t afraid to let her know that.
Now shifters want to hire her to find a missing boy, and she gets an offer she´s unable to refuse, or escape from. An unwanted bodyguard and a vampire who wants to help her makes for an interesting adventure.
Blade Song features shifters, vamps, action packed scenes, and a kick ass heroine who stands on her own two feet. You really get the feeling that Kit has got a lot of baggage, of the hurtful kind, and she didn´t have a carefree upbringing.
JCD really knows how to write stories that takes a grip on you. I loved this book and can´t wait for the next book in the series.
