When Lacey loses control of her vehicle and finds herself trapped by ice and snow, she knows there's only one person to call for help. Unfortunately, Michael may cause more turmoil than relief. She's lusted for the gorgeous Dom ever since she first laid eyes on him. Trouble is, he doesn't do vanilla and she's not a submissive...or is she?
Michael's hungered for Lacey for months, so when he notices her fleeting glimpses and blush-stained cheeks as he rescues her from an altercation with a guardrail, he decides it's time to push the sultry beauty's boundaries...only to discover Lacey's not as reserved as she thinks.
Physical attraction blossoms into something neither anticipates, taking Michael and Lacey beyond kink, dominance and submission. Their newfound connection is strong until a flame from Michael's past returns, shatters the fragile trust he and Lacey have only just developed and threatens to destroy something neither wants to surrender.
My Quickie Review
What I liked about Make Me Shiver:
- Lacey is naturally curious about Michael’s BDSM lifestyle, and doesn’t beat herself up for wanting to explore it.
- Michael’s playroom sounds warm and inviting, not the scare you spitless kind.
- For Lacey’s first foray into BDSM, Michael takes it slow and easy. Feeling out her boundaries. Which is the sign of a good Dom.
- The sex is hot!
- We get to meet some great peripheral characters, like Trevor and Brian, who we will probably see in Just Make Me, Book Two, including a m/m/f menage.
- Michael understands how to play the game of anticipation.
- Lacey’s best friend Candace will also be one to watch for throughout the series. She’s a hoot!
- Lacey is a very organic character. She’s easy to relate to.
What I didn’t like about Make Me Shiver:
- Michael insists he will respect Lacey’s boundaries, but when she says he can’t see him and has other plans, he won’t take no for an answer. All of this after he blew off Lacey, twice.
- Michael puts Lacey through a “test” to prove that she really wants to be with him. It’s a very hot test, but a mind game, nonetheless.
- The cover may be hot, but Lacey has dark hair and Michael is blond. I really detest inaccurate covers.
Overall, it’s an enjoyable read and I will probably continue with the series.
