This is the 2nd installment of the Secrets Series.
I didn't read the other installments, and I have to say I didn't feel lost as to what was going on.
Connor Black is a dom who was abused in his childhood and had a very tough life. He's very hesitant getting close to people and though he's super attracted to Bridget, a sub who frequents his club, he admires her from afar and doesn't get too close.
Connor runs a private investigations business, and Bridget asks him for help with her son. Her son is a secret she's been keeping since forever, but she finally tells Connor she had a son when she was a teenager and left him up for adoption. Though she still keeps in touch with the adoptive parents, it scares her to get a phone call from her son asking for her help.
Connor tells Bridget not to worry and that he'll get to the bottom of what's going on with her son. So begins a lurid tale of intrigue as it turns out the adoptive parents died in a questionable car crash and the person in charge of Bridget's son is his uncle whom everyone thinks is abusing the boy.
It's an all out race to find out what really happened with the adoptive parents and if Bridget's son is in any danger, but everything gets complicated when Bridget and Connor can't seem to keep their hands off each other. Can Connor get through his issues and finally get a happy ending?
