My Review:

Slade was young when his family was involved in a car accident. He and his dad made out of the accident all right, but his mother was fatally injured.

With his whole world turned upside down, Slade tries to pick up the pieces and pull himself together. But all too soon for his liking, his father ups and marries another woman – who’s got a family of her own in tow, an eighteen-year-old daughter, Iris, and a younger son, Kellan, who will now become his step-siblings.

Slade concocts a whole revenge plot against his father and decides the best way to make his dad pay for forgetting his mother so soon is to break apart his new family. And what better way to accomplish that than by sleeping with his new step-sister?

Slade sets his sights on his prey, and just before he sets off to Harvard to start medical school, he finally gets what he wanted. But in between all the lies he tells Iris, Slade realizes that Iris is special to him. But he’s so dead set on revenge he puts his emotions in check and keeps his eye on the prize.

When the inevitable goes down and they’re caught in the act, Slade is torn by Iris’ broken heart. He’s blinded by the rage he feels against his father to do anything, though, and soon leaves town to go off to Harvard.

Seven years later, Kellan is going down the wrong street of life and it seems to Iris that only Slade can help her younger brother come back to how he used to be. After all, Kellan idolized Slade as an older brother and was devastated when Slade left for college and never talked to the family again.

Despite whatever happened in the past, Iris is resolved to go find Slade and make him help her save her brother, Kellan. But will she be able to resist his charms? Can she keep things business with Slade, or will she give in to the desires she’s never stopped feeling for the man who took her virginity?
