4 Kiss Review: A Secret to Die For (Secret McQueen #8) by Sierra Dean

15995860

No one is safe.
Secret McQueen thought she’d seen it all, but that was before she, Desmond and Holden came home to find New York City burning and the streets overwhelmed with the walking dead. Now, in a race against time, she must find out who is responsible for unleashing hell on Earth.
For that, she’s going to need a whole new team of vampire wardens to help round up the perpetrators, who turn out to be a gang that makes Sons of Anarchy look like toddlers on tricycles.
Her quest across the city brings old friends and enemies out of the woodwork and reminds Secret once and for all why mercy and forgiveness are not always prudent. Lives will be lost, sacrifices will be made, and when the dust settles, nothing will ever be the same again.
With no time to mourn her losses, the only question remaining is if Secret can survive long enough to stop the apocalypse…or if this is the one challenge that will finally drown her in rivers of undead blood.
Warning: The final book in the Secret McQueen series has it all: hot kisses, unexpected guests, and enough tear-jerking moments to require a whole box of tissues. You’ve been warned.

My Review:

At last, in the series finale of the Secret McQueen series, we find out what happened at the end of book 7.

Zombies - or the some sort of undead have risen thanks to some Necromancers who party crash New York City.

Now, Secret must gather all her forces, vampire and werewolf alike to battle their most formidable foe yet. But yet along the way her friends and allies keep dropping like flies and it takes everything in Secret just to keep going.

Can she make it out alive with those closest to her or will the loss of several of her friends drive her to the edge again? And what of Calliope's prediction? Will Secret finally meet her end next to the one she truly loves?

*record scratch* But wait! Just as things were wrapping up at the end, Goodreads lets us know that there's ANOTHER book continuing after the series finale. What? It's a SERIES FINALE!

That means the series is over - not continuing! Ugh! Just when we thought everything was all wrapped up, now we have to wait for the new book coming sometime this year. How can we all possibly make it till then?

A Secret to Die For features:

  • paranormal romance
  • sexual content
  • zombies
  • magic

Nineteen-year-old Remy King is on a mission to get across the wasteland left of America, and nothing will stand in her way - not violent marauders, a spoiled rock star, or an army of flesh-eating zombies.
