Review & Giveaway – Knight (Impossible #2) by Julia Sykes

20826554

Abducted. Drugged. Broken. I became a plaything, a possession. If I did ever have a name, I don't remember it now. Slaves don't have names.
My new Master stole me away from the man who tormented me. He saved me and took me for himself. I've found my salvation in his obsession, my freedom in his captivity.
Will his brand of rescue leave me more broken than ever?
Extended Description:
Lydia Chase has been abducted and broken. Her only escape from the pain is the sweet high of the heroin that her sadistic Master gives her as a reward in order to control her. She is found by FBI agent Smith James, and he is determined to save her. But the soul is much more difficult to heal than the body, and Lydia finds herself becoming completely dependent on the Dominant Smith, finding comfort in his control of her body and mind as their relationship becomes sexual. How can she ever become whole again if she can't learn to let him go and take control of her own life? Is this new form of captivity just what she needs to survive?
WARNING: Given the nature of this story, this book contains graphic violence and references to sexual assault, which some readers may find upsetting. It also contains BDSM.

NOTE: Knight is part of the Impossible series, but it can be read as a standalone story without spoiling the other books.

Double Review!

My Review:

After being abducted, abused and stripped of her own self, Slave finds herself in a strange place, with her Master missing and no one to help her. She´s lost, again.

Smith is on a raid at a BDSM club with his fellow FBI agents when they meet a submissive without her master. Hurting from more than withdrawal, they try to help.

Knight is a captivating story with a broken woman finding her way, and a Dom finding use of his experience. Knight features suspense, angst. and smut in a great combo where the focus isn´t on BDSM, more on the aftermath of a disaster.

Rating: 4.5 Kisses

My Review:

Agent Smith James is an FBI Special Agent and Dominant (Dom) working on special case in New York City (NYC) where he discovers a broken submissive. The only names she goes by are whore. slave, and f*cktoy when questioned by Agent James whom she calls Master.

James is disgusted by Jane Doe's treatment at That Bastard’s hands. James is the only one who understands Jane's needs at this point.

Jane slowly comes back to herself only thru James' guidance. James is having a hard time separating himself from Jane to be objective, yet he's clearly drawn to her on a deeper level.

Jane doesn't like to think of herself before she was broken because she doesn't want to be her again. Jane suddenly discovers that her name is Lydia. She knows that she can't retreat from her past any more.

Lydia is reunited with her family, but she's not the person she used to be anymore. Lydia discovers hard truths about her life, past and present. Will Agent James admit his feelings? What hard truths does Lydia discover? Will That Bastard be caught? Your answers await you in Knight (An Impossible Novel).

~~~~~~~~~~~
I can honestly say I wasn't sure where this novel was going when I started it. I'm happy to admit that a lot of my own boundaries were pushed wide open, giving me an unique reading experience.
Agent James is a total alpha male with all the protective instincts that go with it. He definitely doesn't follow the rules as he should. Lydia's character was beautiful in its unfolding from the beginning to the end of the book. I was upset at her treatment by That Bastard. Upon witnessing how James treated her was complete role reversal for me. I'm looking forward to more books from this author.
Knight features:
  • erotic themes
  • BDSM
  • m/f
  • non-consensual sex
