11235712

Humans and androids crowd the raucous streets of New Beijing. A deadly plague ravages the population. From space, a ruthless lunar people watch, waiting to make their move. No one knows that Earth’s fate hinges on one girl.
Cinder, a gifted mechanic, is a cyborg. She’s a second-class citizen with a mysterious past, reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsister’s illness. But when her life becomes intertwined with the handsome Prince Kai’s, she suddenly finds herself at the center of

an intergalactic struggle, and a forbidden attraction. Caught between duty and freedom, loyalty and betrayal, she must uncover secrets about her past in order to protect her world’s future.

My Review:

Lunars are possibly the most feared people in the universe. They are ruled by the iron fisted Queen Levana. It's rumored she killed Queen Channary and Princess Selene to gain the throne.

The Earthen is divided into regions, one of which is Eastern Commonwealth and New Beijing is the capitol. Emperor Rikan is dying of the deadly letumosis and Prince Kaito "Kai" struggles to maintain the peace his father worked so hard for. Amidst the chaos, Prince Kai's personal android is malfunctioning, and he takes it to the renowned Linh Cinder to fix.

Linh Cinder is the best mechanic in New Beijing who happens to also be a cyborg. Cinder's life and world are about to rapidly change in ways not even she could conceive.

Dr. Erland’s top researcher of letumosis is stunned to learn Cinder's origins and tries to help her. What will Queen Levana do? Can Cinder fix Prince Kai's personal android? Can letumosis be cured? What is Dr. Erland hiding? Your answers await you in Cinder.

I've always enjoyed fairy tales and Cinder offers a modern twist on a classic. I liked how the complex the story is woven and the characters are just amazing.

My faves are how Cinder tries to fit in, yet people treat her differently because she's cyborg. I also really don't like Queen Levana at all. Her blatant dislike of shells is disgusting. I also can’t get over how Prince Kai doesn't want to be emperor, yet he'll do his duty.

I truly enjoyed this book and I'm looking forward to the next book in series.

Cinder features:

  • Young Adult
  • kissing
  • no sexual content
  • suspense
  • intrigue
  • mystery
  • fairy tales

Rating: 4 Kisses
